Student Maren Masberg, has been studying on our London Art College Watercolour Diploma Course, tutored by Steven Hersey and we wanted to showcase her work today.
Maren’s work shows a confident and sensitive approach to watercolour, with a strong understanding of composition, tonal balance, and atmosphere. The progression from initial sketches through to finished paintings is particularly impressive, demonstrating careful observation and thoughtful decision making at each stage. The handling of light, foliage, and architectural detail feels natural and assured, with a lovely sense of calm running through the scenes.
The Watercolour Diploma Course is designed to take students step by step through materials, techniques, composition, and personal development, encouraging experimentation alongside solid technical foundations. Under expert tuition, students learn how to plan paintings effectively, work with confidence, and develop their own visual voice in watercolour.
