Nigel Shaw is currently studying on our Beginners Painting Course and we are thrilled to showcase his work today on our blog. Nigel approaches his studies with an open mind and a steady stream of ideas. He is clearly motivated by a deep appreciation for art history and modern painters, with a particular admiration for Henri Matisse. This influence can be seen throughout his work in the bold use of colour, simplified forms, and expressive compositions.
His tutor Monika says he is a pleasure to teach which is all down to his consistency and dedication. He engages wholeheartedly with the course material, applies feedback thoughtfully and continues to push himself creatively.
Nigel is such a committed one with many ideas and a clear love for art and Matisse in particular.
