This weekend we continued our alphabet challenge, with students asked to create a drawing or painting based on something beginning with the letter G. Once again, you have all come up with a great selection of creative ideas!
From gentle giraffes and curious geese to golf, Gnu’s, grapes and beyond. We have seen a fantastic mix of subjects, styles and approaches. Some pieces are playful and characterful, others more observational or detailed, but every one shows thought and imagination.

Here’s my drawing of a toy giraffe using Derwent Inktense coloured pencils. Anne-MarieHere is Gilbert the Guinea pig for this weekend’s challenge. He was drawn with watercolour pencils, white watercolour paint and graphite pencil. Lindsay TG for golf. With gouache on a black paper. Reference is Pixabay image. This is my experiment of using masking fluid for black and with gouache. It works. Ni NiG is for gnu (also known as wildebeest) This is made using graphite pencil and coloured pencil, and is a mother and her baby. Catherine THere’s the work for weekend challenge. It’s a gazelle from adidas. Yuriko YGrass (Sumi-e/Japanese Watercolour) Ozlem E‘G’ is for great cartoons giants like Garfield and Grandma from Giles! HelenG is for green gnu and green baby gnu!!! Drawn in coloured pencil! CatherineGrasshopper: ink and Inktense blocks washed + pens on a hot pressed watercolour paper. I used garden stick to line this. I really enjoyed doing this. Ni NiMarianneG: Grape (Sumi-e&Japanese Watercolour Ozlem EGorilla – pastels sticks and charcoal. Rosalind.Guitar: line and wash with watercolour and black ink. Also used some pastel pencils. Ni NiWeekend challenge G for Galah EmmaG : is for Great Crested Grebes. Chinese brush and ink on lining paper Dinah BI’ve drawn and painted a goat with acrylic and children’s paints Googly eye added. Outlined with a black biro Nina PG is for ginger cat. I did this little ginger cat with Derwent Inktense blocks and white gouache in my watercolour journal. It was fun with no pencil sketch. Ni Ni
