This week’s art challenge is blooming with possibilities! Inspired by the brilliant Jayme Hennel and her beautiful 30 Flowers project, we’re setting you the task of drawing or painting Summer Flowers.
You can choose any flower you like – whether it’s growing in your garden, spotted on a walk, or simply a favourite bloom you love the look of. You can focus on one flower or create a little group if you prefer.
Bonus challenge – if you’re able, try to add the name of the flower somewhere in your piece. You can handwrite it, print it, stencil it, stamp it – however you like.
Ideas to get you started:
- A neat, labelled botanical-style sketch
- A big splashy watercolour bloom
- A group of wildflowers from your last walk
- A favourite flower from your garden, pot, or windowsill
- Something bold and abstract with big colour blocks
- A soft graphite pencil drawing with shading and detail

You can interpret this challenge however you like, the main thing is to enjoy the process, celebrate the season. A huge thank you to Jayme Hennel for the wonderful inspiration! Go and have a look at her website, its wonderful!
We can’t wait to see what blossoms from your brushes and pencils this weekend.
