Welcome to our weekend challenge all about marine life. We would love for you to have fun with all things under the sea and experiment with shape and colour, texture and form, wet in wet washes, bold strokes and soft shades… the choice is yours. You inspiration is water, fish, starfish, jellyfish, turtles… let your imagination run wild!
We have added a few photos below to get your started, all copyright free of course, but why not take a look around the internet and choose your own. Perhaps amalgamate multiple photos together to collate a scene of marine life or a collage. The ideas are limitless and we hope that you have fun with such a board topic. We know that you will all come up with amazing pieces and we look forward to showing them here next week!
The idea of these challenges is to help students improve their skills by drawing, painting and creating regularly.
So try to submit work that you have created specifically for the challenge – or course work you are currently creating for your art course. Sometimes our challenge themes cross over with what students are learning. Our challenges are great practive for your coursework too!

Email your artwork to us for inclusion on the blog next week. We sometimes take challenge posts submitted to our Facebook group to add to the collection, however we may miss some, so if you really want to see your work here, make sure you email it to us!
