Welcome to our latest weekend art challenge where we set our students the task of creating artwork on the subject of cute creatures. Our students have done a marvellous job here and this was definitely a popular challenge! From cats, dogs, peacocks, dolphins and even hamsters, the artwork this week is full of cuteness.
We hope these wonderful pieces of student artwork inspire you to pick up your pencils, brushes, or pens and have a go at drawing or painting something cute today!
A big thank you to all who took part. Scroll down to enjoy the full collection of the artwork. A new challenge will be posted tomorrow…don’t miss it!
I think ducklings are so cute. I didn’t have ducklings around but I used to have chicks. I can’t resist those ducklings once I saw. I fancied drawing today. I used polychromos coloured pencils, black and white pens. I did graphite pencil sketch first and erased after lining with black pen. This was done in my cheap sketchbook A5 size. I hope you all enjoy drawing and painting weekend! Ni NiPeacock : Representing dignity and high tank, the beautifully colored peacock is a valued bird. It is believed to ward off evil with the eyes on its tail. Ozlem EMy cat Sandi reference recent photo. Created with acrylic on paper. Ni NiI was inspired by one of my grandson’s action figures (the abominable snowman) and by the hearty winter we’ve had here in Vermont. Drawn with ink and Tombow brush pen. LinnHere is my cute creature – what a surprise it’s Mia, my dog!!! Mia is drawn with pen and ink and watercolour pencils, she is lying on “her” chair with one of her favourite toys!! She’s so cute, that “her” chair is our only recliner which none of us can recline on, as she’s taken it as her own!! The only snag is that she can’t reach the controls!!! Catherine TMaryAnn HMy brother’s dog Nang Tham with watercolour and black and white pens. Ni NiLoved this week’s challenge and thought it would be a great opportunity for Baby Colin to make an appearance. Marianne TMy seal pup in charcoal and pencil. Lindsey CHere is a picture drawn in pastels of dolphins leaping – I have been lucky enough to see them swimming in the wild – and it is an amazing sight. Catherine TMy Black Bear Syrian hamster, Bashi, posed for these drawings – to me, there’s no cuter creature than my little Bashi! AliciaThis was my previous cat who left us a few years ago. My little drawing with graphite pencil, watercolour pencils and white pen. I still missed her. Ni NiI could not make her cute expression but Garlic is very cute actually Ozlem EI’m sending my work with my niece and her 2 cats: cute creatures MariolaI was on holiday this week but naturally I still took my coloured pencils, every single one of them. As it happened , I had photographed this gorgeous little chaffinch a few days earlier, so it was perfect to draw for the challenge. Heather KJudith F.TFennec Fox.
